Unfortunate Abbreviations

Amidst my travails, I have run across quite a few very unfortunate abbreviations. I always like to draw attention to the fact that my college degree (bachelor of science) is abbreviated BS, which we all know more commonly stands for "bullshit," which is actually pretty fitting. (Subsequently, MS stands for "more shit" and PhD stands for "piled higher and deeper.)

Someone really should issue a worldwide memorandum explaining that "ass" simply isn't an appropriate abbreviation for "association," nor for "assistant," unless your goal is to make people giggle like children looking up dirty words in the dictionary during "silent reading" time at school.

Similarly, I firmly believe that Psychological Bulletin should revise its official abbreviation so that it is not "Psychol Bull." Seriously, people... that's just asking for it.
