Crazy Weekend

I drove into NoVA this weekend to celebrate PK's (formerly referred to as Susan, I think, but this alias is easier for me to remember) birthday and Little J's impending wedding. We whiled away the hours playing "Def Jam: Fight for NY" on The Jew's X-Box (this game is awesome -- rappers beating the living shit out of one another!), watching PK's newly procured (a birthday present from Lynn) "Firefly" DVDs, going out to eat various and sundry delicious Asian foods (except for that one trip to Outback Steakhouse), and buying inappropriate bridal shower gifts for Little J.

Saturday night I met up with a friend and her date in DC, and I went to my very first "Liquid Ladies" night at Apex! It was tons of fun and PACKED with lesbians of all shapes, sizes, and colors, many of whom were actually quite attractive, which was encouraging. I was rescued from feeling third-wheelish by a spunky Californian redhead named Sarah (she was in town on business), with whom I spent most of the evening dancing. We watched the DC Drag Kings perform (they were awesome!), and then we headed out. Sarah asked me to walk her back to her hotel. It was almost 2am, and I didn't want her to have to walk alone, so I obliged (even though I was pretty much as new to the city as she was). Sure enough, when we got there, she invited me up to her room. I turned her down. She was totally cute, and I know I complain a lot about getting no play, but random hookups are just not me. I want to at least have a chance at some sort of a relationship if I'm going to get physical. So I walked back to the Metro alone, confident that I made the right decision. And on my way, I totally got cheered on by the group of guys in the Irish pub next to the hotel, as neither Sarah nor I realized we had an audience in the GIANT plate-glass window when we kissed goodnight/goodbye. D'oh!

It was about 4am by the time I showered (to rid myself of the cigarette stank in which I had percolated all night) and crashed, and I didn't stir until 1pm today. I spent the afternoon with the lovely Center of the Universe, and she even treated me to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory (yum)! And I may get to crash with Center, her mom, their two cats and their resident Frenchman so I can more easily commute to my exciting new job (!) until I find a place of my own! (This also means that I would be closer to MKD, Asianpixie, and Louie, who, incidentally, has lost a lot of weight now that he's on diet food and getting exercise from chasing poor Mikie around the apartment!) Ah, the perfect icing on the crazy-cake that was my weekend...
