The Michael Freezer Incident
(also known as "Why I Found a José Olé Chimichanga in My Box of Nestle Drumsticks")
As my roomie and I had a midnight freezer raid and polished off the box of Drumsticks (those chocolate-dipped, peanut-topped ice cream cones) tonight, we made a bizarre and somewhat disquieting discovery. There was an individually wrapped frozen José Olé Chimichanga at the bottom of the box. We were very confused. We puzzled over it for quite some time, examining the box for any clues of a "special bonus frozen Mexican food included!" deal. No such luck.
And then, suddenly, it occurred to me - two nights ago I took the box of Drumsticks to C's house, where we feasted upon the dairy goodness and then deposited the box in her already overflowing freezer. About 20 minutes later, her housemate's unsuspecting boyfriend, Michael, opened the freezer, and about half of the contents fell on the kitchen floor... including my box of Drumsticks and, apparently, an individually wrapped frozen José Olé Chimichanga. When he stuffed the ice cream cones (also individually wrapped) back into their box, he must have inadvertently thrown in the chimichanga.
And there you have it. Mystery solved! I'm like an older, hotter, cooler, and female Encyclopedia Brown (remember those books??).
