Nobody knows the wreck of a soul the way you do...

It's a miracle I survived...

Yes, that's right. I'm lucky to be alive following an afternoon of cookie baking and gingerbread house contructing with my mother, stepfather, and younger sister. Mostly, it consisted of me getting flour and frosting all over myself and my sister criticizing my decorating abilities. There was also a minor mishap involving an electric mixer and flying frosting (for which I disavow all responsibility, not because I'm not responsible for the mess, but because that is what I do -- I disavow... "it wasn't me!"). I'll see if I can convince my sister to send me some of the pictures she took (I didn't bring my camera).

Following the culinary nightmare, Sister and I headed out for a few last-minute Christmas shopping items. Traffic was horrific. I also made a quick stop at Petsmart for some litter, kitten chow, and a little gifty for my baby Louie (one of those fun feathers on a stick! It's bright orange and has a bell!). Now I just have to wrap all the presents I've bought, order something for my brother on Ebay, have it shipped to him sometime after Christmas, finish knitting a few gifts (scarves), and cry because my bank account has fifty cents left in it (I had to borrow money from Dad for today's errands). I think I can accomplish these aforementioned things this evening without overexerting myself.

Light a candle for the dearly departed money that used to be in my checking account. I'd do it myself, but I can't afford a candle!
