Weekend Update

I can't believe we're already 10 days into October!

It's been a good, though thoroughly unproductive, weekend. Movie night on Friday with Beth and Susan was fun (we watched Wet Hot American Summer and But I'm a Cheerleader), and I stayed in by myself last night and watched more movies (Boys Don't Cry and Bound, holy SHIT Gina Gershon is HOT!). It felt good to veg. My brain was tired.

Dad came down for the day today, and we went out for lunch at a local barbeque place and talked. It was good to see him, and he brought me a hose so I can FINALLY wash my filthy car (I am NOT about to pay 20 bucks to wash it at "The Buggy Bath" down the street). We had a frustrating and mostly fruitless discussion about my (lack of) plans for next year, but other than that the visit went well.

Tonight I'm heading out to Mug Night at one of the local bars, despite the fact that I'm feeling increasingly like death warmed over (a condition which was probably helped along a little by the clove cigarettes I smoked over the last few days... my lungs are rebelling against/punishing me. bastard lungs). Actually, I was starting to feel a little rough on Thursday, so whatever. I'm not about to pass up cheap cider.

Tomorrow and Tuesday I shall do work, as classes resume Wednesday, my history paper rewrite is due that day, and I have a philosophy midterm on Friday. Welcome to the Bootcamp of Academia... drop and give me 20... pages.
