Blechy Tuesday

Still sick, but less so. No more icky stomach badness, so that's a plus. However I'm still wheezing and hacking up foul burny stuff from my lungs. This happens every time I get even mildly sick due to my asthma -- everything just settles in my lungs and leaves me prone to upper-respiratory tract infections. Anyone wanna trade lungs with me? Yeah, didn't think so.

In any case, I got to sleep in again today (last day of Fall Break), which was nice. I'll definitely miss that. Damn 8am class. Today's agenda includes researching and revising my history paper, catching up on my philosophy readings, mildly panicking about my impending biology grant proposal, finishing up my laundry, and wallowing in self-pity.

Still listening obsessively to Butch Walker's "Letters" album... good stuff. Anyone remember the band Marvelous 3 from the late '90s? Butch was their lead singer/guitarist.

Also listening to HunHun's amazing duet with Paul Simon. She rocks my socks.

In other news, I think Louie ate one of my rings. StoOpid cat. I mean, it was a cheap ring, so I'm not all that upset. But still. You just can't leave things sitting around here... they tend to disappear.

Since Sunday's "what are you going to do with your life" conversation with Daddy Dearest, I've been giving thought to what the hell I'm going to do next year when I exit my ivory tower. I thought about the Peace Corps, but that's a two-year committment, and if it sucks I'm stuck in some random country. So now I'm toying with the idea of Americorps -- it's only a one-year committment, and it will still get me the hell out of this part of the country, which is kind of my main goal at this point. I'm obviously gonna do more research before I make any decisions. I suck at decision-making. I've been known to deliberate extensively over candy bar choices.

Speaking of choices and changes, I need to get my hair cut, and I'm trying to figure out what I want to do with it. Just a trim? Something more drastic? It's kind of thin and irratically wavy, so there aren't very many styles that are flattering. Any suggestions? Let me know.
