My Accidental Trip to Rockville

OR Why Dozing Off on the Bus is BAD

It all began with a need for yarn. Yes, yarn. I was working on a knitting project, and I ran out of the yarn I was using, so I needed more. Being new to the DC area, I had no idea where I might purchase said yarn, so I turned to my trusted friend, Google. After some serious search-tweaking, I was able to find a yarn store in Bethesda, which is a reasonable traveling distance from my abode in NW DC. So off I frolicked (took the train) to the Friendship Heights Metro station, where I hopped on the T2 bus, ostensibly to get off somewhere in Bethesda.

No such luck.

About 15 minutes into the bus ride, I got drowsy and my eyes started to close of their own accord (stupid eyes). Next thing I knew, I was at the freaking Rockville Metro station.

However, I refused to allow my yarn-buying mission to be thwarted by this transportational setback. My latent familiarity with Rockville led me to the Michael's arts and crafts store on Rockville Pike, where I purchased yarn and Halloween Marshmallow Peeps shaped like jack-o-lanterns. My tour through Rockville ended at the Twinbrook Metro station (somewhere between 2 and 3 miles from my starting point at the Rockville station), where I boarded the train bound for DC... with my big bag o' yarn.

I'm never leaving the city again.
