Just a Thought

I participated in the Capital Pride Festival last weekend. I went to the parade, I even briefly joined the Dyke March until Mo and I couldn't take it anymore and dropped out (What the hell kind of demonstration march STOPS FOR TRAFFIC??). Then we hit up (and got sunburned at) the street festival on Sunday. We perused the various booths of overpriced rainbow-adorned crap. We were assaulted from all sides by candidates for every imaginable political office. We nearly drowned in coupons and flyers for junk we didn't need and "social" events we wouldn't attend, respectively. We bought expensive fried food from a highly questionable-looking vendor housed under a big yellow tent.

Here is my thought: Why were there only vendors of unhealthy (and possibly unsanitary) shite at the GAY PRIDE festival? I don't even know how many gyms had booths there, but I know there were more than just a few (I had my body-fat percentage measured at one of them). The Diet Ocean Spray people were there pimping out their new, calorie-free beverages. WHY were people selling bratwurst and meat on sticks?? Where were the vegetarian/vegan/organic/granola booths? What were all the crunchy lezzies supposed to eat?? Next year, I'm totally setting up my own veggie-burger/tofu/hummus booth, and I'm gonna make some serious bank!
