Quiet Time

I am not a morning person. And I bet if you surveyed the general population, you would find that more than half of all people hate mornings as well. This is why I am advocating Mandatory Morning Commute Quiet (MMCQ). Do as you wish in your own car, but if you use public transit, shut your pie-hole. MMCQ policy would ban extensive conversation on both Metrobus and Metrorail, whether in person or via cellular communication device, before the hour of 9am. No one wants to hear you chitchat that early in the morning. The morning commute is a time to steel oneself for the long day ahead. It is a time to plan how you're going to deal with your moronic coworkers without losing your job. There is no reason to converse with anyone at great length at 8am. Unless it involves some sort of medical emergency, force of nature, or national security disaster, it can wait. You are not that important. Repeat after me: "I am not that important."
