So, how did it go?

Um, yeah. Last night was an interesting conglomeration of events, most of which I remember at least a little hazily. It is noon, and I just got home. Don't get too excited, folks... I spent the night (or, rather, very very early morning) alone on the daybed in the sunroom at Hillary and Skip and Nick, etc. 's house, as I was FAR too drunk to drive home and the bus stops running at like 1am.

My evening began at karaoke night at a local bar, where I was ostensibly meeting my friend Easy E, but I knew CandyGirl was going to be there, too (she's friends with Easy E). So I hung out at their table for awhile, had a drink, did some dancin' with an extremely inebriated Easy E, and nearly melted when CandyGirl (backed up by some of her friends) rather drunkenly sang "One Fine Day". I thought to myself, "I'm right HERE! I want you for my girl!" But apparently I lack certain anatomical qualifications. *sigh* I need to get over this.

So around 11:30 I left the bar, changed into my ridiculous last-minute costume in my car (I was a retarded-looking superhero, Captain Copy, my copy editor superhero alter ego. The costume involved running tights with Superman underoos over top of them. Hott.). So when I arrived at the house party, it was in full swing. It was actually a LOT of fun. I had a great deal of Nick's "special" punch (which contained, among other things, an entire handle of gin) and consumed various other tasty beverages. Someone had brought a guitar, so I jammed with Hillary's friend Nate, who had brought his mandolin. We actually held a pretty captive audience, which was cool. As the party progressed and everyone grew more intoxicated, we decided it was a good idea to play spin the bottle, which resulted in much debauchery of both the male and female liplock varieties. So I got to hang out with a bunch of friends, meet some cool new people, and briefly forget about CandyGirl with the aid of my dear friend Al K. Hall. And I got to chat with C's friend Mischa, whose experience with bisexuality is very similar to mine (conservative parents, crushing on straight girls, etc.).

So it was a bittersweet evening, but fun nonetheless.

And I finally got to kiss some girls. Now if only I could do it sober....
